Xp3 Oil Treatment vs Motor Oil: What Is the Difference?

Motor oil is the primary lubricant used in an engine. Xp3 Anti-Friction Engine Oil Treatment is an aftermarket additive added to existing engine oil. The two products do not replace each other.

Motor oil does the base job

Engine oil lubricates, cools, cleans, and protects engine components while meeting viscosity and performance specifications set by the engine manufacturer.

Aftermarket treatment is additional

MPG positions Xp3 as an additive package for gasoline and diesel engine oil. A current MPG page lists a treatment ratio of one fluid ounce per quart of oil, with a 5 percent ratio for larger crankcases.

Compatibility matters

Check the engine manufacturer's oil specification and guidance on aftermarket additives. Equipment warranties and service requirements deserve separate review.

Claims need attribution
