Yerba Mate

Yerba mate is a caffeinated plant beverage and botanical ingredient made from Ilex paraguariensis leaves. Extracts and brewed mate differ in concentration. If a supplement contains yerba mate, check whether the product also lists total caffeine. Other ingredients such as guarana or green tea extract might add more caffeine. Do not estimate stimulant exposure from one botanical name. Use the finished-product caffeine statement when available.
