Plant Oils and Emollients

Emollients are ingredients used to smooth and soften the skin surface. Plant oils are one type of emollient used in creams, lotions, and moisturizers. A product described as made with natural oils still needs a full ingredient list. Different oils have different textures and fatty-acid profiles. A finished moisturizer also includes water, thickeners, emulsifiers, preservatives, and other ingredients. MPG describes its current Skin Moisturizer as using natural oils and emollients.
