Anti-Wear Additives

Anti-wear additives are lubricant components designed to reduce wear under certain contact conditions. They are part of the additive chemistry already present in many motor oils. Anti-wear additives and friction modifiers are related lubricant concepts, but the terms do not mean the same thing. Modern motor oils already contain additive packages. Aftermarket oil treatments add another formula to the system. Check the vehicle or equipment manufacturer oil specifications before adding a separate treatment.
